* CAMRA Petition calls on Greene King to keep Ridleys Brewery Open 02/09/2005   
Issued Thursday 2nd September 2005 CAMRA has sent a petition with 4,800 names to Greene King calling on the Suffolk brewer to reconsider its decision to close Ridleys Brewery in Essex following its acquisition in July. Greene King has announced plans to close the 163 year old brewery in the autumn. At its AGM today Greene King has announced an increase in beer volumes of 6% in the last 12 months.
* Beer Revolution' in Britain as number of new breweries soars 12/09/2005   
Issued: Monday 12th September 2005, Embargoed: Wednesday 14th September 2005, 00.01 Choice for British beer drinkers is booming as a record number of new breweries has been recorded by the 2006 edition of the Good Beer Guide, published today by the Campaign for Real Ale. Editor Roger Protz says the guide lists more than 80 new breweries, almost twice as many as in the previous year.

* CAMRA announces Britains best pub for Cider and Perry - 28/10/2005   
CAMRA's Cider & Perry Pub of the Year - The Miners Arms, Lydney, Gloucester Issued: Friday 28th October 2005, Embargo: Monday 31st October 2005, 00.01 CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, has been celebrating Cider and Perry Month through October, today announced that The Miners, New Road, Whitecroft, Lydney, Gloucester is the best pub in Britain for cider and perry. This is the first time this award has been made to a pub.

For immediate use Beer consumer group, the Campaign for Real Ale has reacted angrily to today's announcement that London brewer Fuller's is to acquire George Gale and Company in Horndean, and has pledged to fight to prevent the closure of the 158 year-old Hampshire brewery.

* Bullmastiff Brewery - Top Dog in Wales 02/12/2005   
The small-craft brewery of Bullmastiff, based in Cardiff, has won the Champion Beer of Wales competition, organised by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, with their Son of a Bitch beer.
* Yorkshire drinkers are top of the hops 12/09/2005   
Issued: Monday 12th September 2005, Embargoed: Wednesday 14th September 2005, 00.01 West Yorkshire is the English county with the biggest number of independent breweries, the 2006 edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide reports. The county has 28 breweries producing cask beer, with four of them based in Keighley. North Yorkshire is hard on its neighbour's heels with 22 breweries. In total, the whole Yorkshire region enjoys 66 independent real ale breweries (South Yorkshire 11, East Yorkshire 5).
