CAMRA needs your help in order to raise funds and continue campaigning for community pubs. You will know from the
recent Budget that many pubs are going to be under more pressure than ever given the smoking ban and now the
excessive rise in duty on beer. Pubs are under threat but any financial help that you can give by buying lottery
tickets can help to make a difference.
You can buy tickets until 4pm at the Great British Beer Festival. The winning ticket will be announced at 5pm on
Saturday 9 August 2008.
Here are some examples of how much it costs CAMRA to run campaigns supporting pubs
- £5 - Will enable CAMRA to provide 3 pubs with a Community Pubs Week publicity pack free of charge
- £10 - Will allow CAMRA to inform 200 TV and Newspaper reporters of a key CAMRA Pubs campaign
- £15 - Will pay for CAMRA to write to 60 MPs to lobby them to support community pubs
- £20 - Will pay for the design, production and distribution of 1,000 lobby campaign postcards
- £25 - Will pay for the design and production of 16 LOCALE packs for pubs
- £50 - Will pay for 50 award winning pubs to receive publicity and a certificate from CAMRA
- £100 - Will pay for CAMRA to write to every Local Planning Authorities to press them to take action to protect
community pubs
